Teacher Training and Development

We actively support professional development at every stage of a teacher’s career - through our own AGS-CPD programme, by supporting national qualifications such as NPQ, delivering a bespoke Early Career Framework package and supporting PGCE trainees from a variety of Higher Education institutions.

Train to be a Teacher with Shires Teaching Alliance. 

We offer placements for trainees, and also play an active part in the delivery of the Shires Training sessions, offering opportunities for our existing teachers to gain experience leading the provision of high-quality training to new entrants to the profession.

Early Career Framework with Ambition Institute.

AGS supports the Early Career Framework delivery with a Core Induction programme led by our own highly experienced teachers and mentors. There are opportunities for staff interested both in ongoing professional development and gaining expertise in the delivery of high-quality CPD.

NPQ  with Tudor Grange Teaching School Hub. 

We are currently supporting a number of staff to gain qualifications across the full range of these courses. 


We operate a CPD programme which is personalised and bespoke to the needs of our staff, and is focussed on improving the quality of learning for our students. It features a flexi-INSET component and enquiry-based target setting coupled with a strong ethos of both autonomy and accountability.
