Admissions into Year 12 for Entry 2026
The stages of applying for Sixth Form are:
Stage 1 - Open evening on Thursday 13th November 2025
This is a great opportunity for Year 11 students and their parents to:
- Attend a presentation about our Sixth Form.
- Meet our departmental staff and current students.
- Tour the school and learn more about the subjects you're interested in.
After open evening we will be offering some short 20 minute tours during the day. Please email sixthform@alcestergs.com for more information.
Stage 2 - Subject Sampling Application by Friday 12th December 2025
Registration for Subject Sampling has now passed. You are still able to apply for a place at Alcester Grammar Sixth Form. The application form will become available on Friday 6th February 2026.
Subject Sampling Evening is an important part of the application process for Sixth Form. Following our Open Evening in November, all students wishing to apply for Sixth Form should apply to be part of this event, which takes place on Thursday 5th February 2026.
Students, you should choose 6 subjects that you are considering taking in Sixth Form to trial at this event, including those you may be taking at GCSE, to fully appreciate the step-up in work that is required to achieve your intended A-level grades.
Please note this IS NOT your formal application to Sixth Form – this comes later. The deadline to apply for subject sampling is Friday 12th December 2025.
Stage 3 - Completion of the Admission Form by 4pm on Monday 2nd March 2026
To apply for place at AGS sixth form please complete the Admission Form.
To ensure that you apply for the right subjects, please check our GCSE entry requirements for each subject which can be found here.
The deadline to complete is 4pm on Monday 2nd March 2026.
If you wish to make any changes to your A‑level choices before Monday 2nd March, please email sixthform@alcestergs.com.
After this date, any subject changes should be made at enrolment on GCSE Results Day. Please note that changes requested after the deadline will mean your application is treated as late.
Applicants for Computer Science and Drama & Theatre have a prerequisite task that must be completed also by 4pm on Monday 16th March 2026.
Students wishing to apply for PE who have not studied GCSE PE must complete a PE Portfolio by 4pm on Monday 16th March 2026.
Stage 4 - Attend Informal Chat
Upon completion of the admission form, applicants will be invited via email to book an informal chat.
Stage 5 - Pre-Admissions Presentations on Wednesday 24th June 2026
Attend a Pre-Admission Presentation for students and parents on Wednesday 24th June 2026. Invite to attend this evening will be emailed following the informal chat.
Stage 6 - Register on GCSE Results Day
GCSE Results Day 2026
Thursday 20th August 2026
All students including all ex-Y11 planning to start AGS must attend between these times with their results, or email if you cannot attend in person. You must give prior notice of non-attendance.
All results to be received by midday
