Full-time Sixth Form Administrative Assistant

This is a permanent, term-time ‘plus’ position. 

Responsible to: Vice Principal - Head of Sixth Form

Salary: NJC Band D: Point 07; with the potential for annual performance progression up to Scale Point 11.           Pro rata salary: £17,570.82 p.a. (based on a FTE salary of £20,092 p.a.), plus Local Government Pension Scheme

Hours: 37 paid hours per week (usually 8:15am - 4:15pm Monday -Thursday and 8:15am - 3:45pm Friday, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break), school term-time plus 10 days (74 hours) for ‘extras’  - essentially events such as August Results Days, Open Evening etc.

We are looking to employ a Sixth Form Administrative Assistant.  The successful candidate will work in our large sixth form team alongside another administrator, the Head of Sixth Form, Heads of Years 12 and 13 and four Assistant Heads of Year.  This job has variety, plenty of interaction with delightful 16-18 year olds, and many opportunities to develop your skills in areas beyond the core administrative aspects.  You will be an integral and vital part of a vibrant, very forward-thinking team - all located in the heart of the school.  We guarantee that you will be very busy and we promise it won’t be dull!

Key responsibilities will involve delivering administrative support to the Sixth Form Team and 600 sixth form students, data entry, absence monitoring and recording, the administration of the school calendar and website, admin support during August GCSE and A level Results Days, assisting with the marketing of the Sixth Form, and the planning, administration and set up of major school events (e.g. Open Evenings).  

Administrative staff are also encouraged to get involved beyond the normal day to day, should they wish to, with activities such as DofE expeditions, ski trips and other extra-curricular aspects of school life.

Training will be offered in all aspects of the job as well as the potential for training in new aspects as yet unknown - there are further opportunities to develop the role for the right candidate.

Cleaning Assistant

Start Date: 1 st November 2021, subject to references and DBS clearance.

Hours required: Monday to Friday,  5.5 hours per day, totalling 27.5 hours per week.

Working pattern: 4.15am to 10.15am daily, with a 30-minute unpaid break 8.30am to 9am

Working weeks: 40 weeks a year, term time (38 weeks) plus 10 days in school holidays (last 5 days of the school
summer holidays plus 5 other days.

Salary: NJC Band A, spinal point 01, £11,596.94 per annum (currently £9.25 per hour), plus holiday pay &
local government pension scheme.

Applicants must be reliable, motivated and able to work as part of our established cleaning team.

Part Time Catering Assistant

Start Date: ASAP

Reports to: Catering Manager

Salary: NJC Band A, spinal point 01, £9.25 per hour, plus holiday pay & local government pension scheme.
Actual salary for 27.5 hours per week, based on a full-time salary of £17,842 p.a., is £11,012 p.a.

Hours: 27.5 hours per week, part-time, term time only
Standard hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 2.30pm


Duties will include assistance in all aspects of the daily running of the busy catering department, including food
Preparation and serving students. Experience would be an advantage but is not essential, training will be provided.

Closing Date: 9am on Wednesday 6th October 2021.

Interviews will take place on Monday 11th October 2021, from 9am. You will be with us for the whole morning.
