Teacher of English

This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), maternity cover position.

We are looking for a Teacher of English to join us from September or November 2021 to cover maternity leave.  Both start dates are possible.  

The post from September to October half term will be the conclusion of a general maternity cover, including teaching Geography, Computing and PSHE to the younger year groups, with support from the respective teams.

From November, it will be an English post, teaching both Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4. English, therefore, is the main focus of the maternity cover.

Both maternity covers will be 4 days a week.

Part Time Food and Nutrition Technician

This is a fixed term (1 year) position, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent.

Responsible to: Head of Food and Nutrition
Salary: NJC Pay scale, Band B: Point 03
Based on a full-time salary of £ 18,562 p.a. equating to £ 5,415.75 p.a. for a 13-hour week.
Hours: 13 hours per week, Term Time only
Working pattern: 9am - 4pm, Monday and Friday 6.5 hours per day, plus a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break

190 days per academic year, this includes September INSET days.

We require a part time Food and Nutrition Technology Technician to assist in the Food and Nutrition Department.
Experience in a food or school environment would be an advantage, although not essential, as training will be given. However, an enjoyment of working in all aspects of food would be an advantage.

Part-time Sixth Form Independent Study Supervisor

This is a permanent position. 

Responsible to: Vice Principal - Head of Sixth Form

Salary: Full role: NJC Band C Point 05 (see note below *)

Pro rata salary £14,086.42 p.a. plus Local Government Pension Scheme (* Pay scale will be reduced to Band B.03, pro rata £13,5389.36, if as part of the role the candidate is spending time working on their own qualification/project e.g. a PHD.)

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time only

Working pattern: 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday | 6.5hours per day, plus 30 minutes unpaid lunch break,           190 days per academic year, this includes September INSET days.

We are looking to employ a Sixth Form Independent Study Supervisor to support the academic progress of Sixth Form students by maintaining a high-quality study environment, and to undertake designated administrative tasks associated with the post.

Assistant Catering Manager / Trainee Assistant Catering Manager

Start Date: ASAP

Hours required: Monday to Friday, 9am – 2.30 pm.
27.5 hours per week, part time, term time only, 38 weeks per year (43.3 paid weeks).  

Salary: NJC Band D; point 7, which equates to £12,400.69 p.a. plus local government pension scheme.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Catering Manager, or a well-qualified and experienced Catering Assistant looking to take their first step in to a position of management.  The salary for this position will reflect qualifications and experience. 

The successful Assistant Catering Manager applicant will be responsible for assisting the Catering Manager in all aspects of the Academy Catering provision.

Caretaker (Property Maintenance) - afternoon & evenings

Start Date: As soon as possible
Reports to: Site Manager

Grade: Starting Salary £18,562 per annum
NJC Grade B, spinal point 03 to 04: £18,562 p.a. to £18,933 p.a.
Plus Local Government Pension Scheme

Hours: 37 hours per week & 52 weeks per year
Annual leave 24 days per annum, plus 8 bank holidays
Standard hours -

  • Monday - Thursdays 2pm to 10pm & Fridays 2pm to 9:30pm
  • Flexibility is critical, you may on occasion upon request from the Site Manager be asked to work different hours, and be on call for emergencies.

New opportunity for an afternoon / evening caretaker to join an established Site team, you need to be a flexible, hands on, practically minded person who can communicate effectively.

The successful candidate will be the 1st point of contact for property related issues during evening sports hall lettings. The job tasks include carrying out general caretaking duties, basic maintenance and repairs, grounds maintenance, emptying bins, manual handling, porterage etc. The role will also include health and safety checks of both site & grounds and being a keyholder responsible for ensuring security of the school site.

Excellent DIY skills are essential, previous ground maintenance experience is desirable, but not essential.
