Alcester Grammar School - Sixth Form Prospectus

Sixth Form dress code The maintenance of a high standard of presentation is important at AGS and it is your responsibility to dress appropriately each day, bearing in mind your own budget and preferences. The Sixth Form encourages smart, stylish dress which expresses our students’ self-confidence and pride in their presentation. For all students, this means business dress in line with formal office standards, including a smart suit jacket. Some principles: • Appropriate dress does not include casual or sports clothing of any kind, such as hoodies, trainers, outdoor coats worn around school, or branded items. • Dress and footwear should not hinder learning; health and safety regulations in many subjects preclude open-toed shoes, and students should all wear appropriate business footwear. • Extremes of fashion are not appropriate in a school with younger students. • The school reserves the right to decide what is considered appropriate. • Games kit depends on your sport choice and is very simple for most students; you will receive details in your handbook. • Our dress code policy is on the website under the sixth form section. Our aim is to keep rules and restrictions to a minimum, while maintaining a smart appearance. We appreciate cooperation in this. “Sixth formers are mature young adults and play an important part in the life of the school, for example by supporting younger students.”
