    Journalists Y7-13: Mrs Tingle

    We are developing a team of journalists to report for the School Newsletter which goes out to parents each term, for the Alumni magazine "AGS Today" and potentially to create a student newspaper or magazine. Sixth form students will create our editorial hub, using their expertise to organise and lead younger reporters with a view to developing a portfolio of work.


    Writer’s Club Y7-13: Mrs Bremner-Smith

    The All New Writers' Club takes place on  Tuesday lunchtime under the leadership of Mrs Bremner-Smith and  a Sixth Form leadership team. All students are welcome and encouraged to enter competitions with a view to seeing heir work published. the sixth form team lead workshops to develop creative and writing skills and share their ideas.


    Schools Challenge Y10 and up: Mrs Atkinson and Ms Humphries

    This is an opportunity for senior students to challenge their grey cells in a competitive environment against other schools in a national competition. It takes on the form of a general knowledge quiz with the teams required to work their way though a series of ever-more challenging rounds.


    Public Speaking Y10 and up: Mrs Tingle

    Years 10 and 11 are invited to participate in an annual fight against other local schools to produce the best public speaking team. This requires the highest level of logical and critical reasoning and the ability to put forward reasoned debate. It also requires highly developed skills in public rhetoric articulate speech. we aim to progress through to at least Regional Finals.
