    The earth and the atmosphere

    Year 9

    Chemical reactions

    GCSE starts in term 2

All topics are followed by an end of topic assessment that is focused on celebrating the questions that students answered correctly whilst addressing gaps in knowledge.

At the end of the autumn term in year 9, students sit an end of KS3 exam which is then used to target areas for improvement going into GCSE.

    GCSE

This qualification is linear which means that students will sit all their exams at the end of the course.

    Revision and Exam

The AQA GCSE specification is summarised below:

C1. Atomic structure and the periodic table

C2. Bonding, structure, and the properties of matter

    C3. Quantitative chemistry

    C4. Chemical changes

    C5. Energy changes

C6. The rate and extent of chemical change

    C7. Organic chemistry
