    Careers Advisor - from September 2018

    1 or 2 days per week, primarily term time only, plus extras days to total 67 days per academic year.
    Specific dates to be mutually agreed - £160 per day on a self employed basis.

    We require an experienced, organised and enthusiastic careers advisor to work in this highly successful, expanding grammar school, with motivated students and outstanding results.  We currently have 1206 students on roll including 500 students in the Sixth Form. Primarily, the role will be working with Years 11 - 13. 80% of our Year 13 students proceed directly to university, with an increasing number of others seeking vocational alternatives or taking gap years.

    The role would include:

    • Managing a rolling programme of careers interviews of varying length according to need

    • Input into careers education programmes - including some input into year group presentations

    • Networking with guest speakers and providers of apprenticeships and training

    • Representing AGS at key training events

    • Attendance at some external agency meetings

    • Attendance at five parents’ evenings, summer results days, open evening and careers evening (to be counted as part of the 67 day allocation)
